THE FACTORY | THIS WEEK
12.22.2014 - 12.27.2014
Here is what we have going on this week, Monday, December 22 – Saturday, December 27:
As Christmas inches closer, the to-do list grows and, somehow, the gift list, too. Avoid the lines and give the gift of an Alabama Chanin digital gift card with just the click of a button. Simply specify the email address you would like to send the card to, add a special note, and - just like that - one more amazing gift and one less thing on the to-do list.
This week we will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as we celebrate the joys of life, love, and holiday with our immediate families, the Alabama Chanin family, and our extended family all across the globe.
We will be open during regular shop hours on Friday, December 26, and continuing with the holiday spirit, we will hold our much anticipated annual Inventory Sale both in-store and online, starting on Friday, December 26th.

In 2008, Alabama Chanin moved operations from a three-bedroom house at Lovelace Crossroads on the outskirts of Florence, Alabama, to a former textile manufacturing facility built in 1982 in the local industrial park. The Factory, as the space is called, has become not only home to the Alabama Chanin design and production studio but also to workshops, events, and dinners. The space is filled with books, music, the hum of making, and more recently, machines for the new A. Chanin line. In 2013, Alabama Chanin began an expansion of The Factory that includes a new event space and full-service café, and houses workshop headquarters and the flagship store.
Our community was, for generations, home to textile mills that employed an incredible number of area residents. This industrial building, The Factory, where we work and spend hours of our lives has seen thousands of workers pass through the doors over the years; it has heard the hum of machines running and the voices and laughter of employees passing the day away. This building is part of Alabama Chanin’s history, but, more importantly, it is part of our community’s history—a symbol of economic boom, hard times, and community rebuilding.
MULETOWN ROASTED COFFEE + THE FACTORY BLEND
My mornings always start with coffee. Like many of you, the act of drinking coffee has long been a part of my daily routine. So, I was excited when approached with the idea of crafting my own organically-sourced blend. If you’ve visited The Factory lately, you’ve probably enjoyed a cup of our house coffee, which is roasted by Muletown Roasted Coffee, based in nearby Columbia, Tennessee. I drink it at home, in the car, at work (and I’ve noticed most of our staff does as well. If you happen to drop by when we are having a meeting, you’ll find most of us taking sips between taking notes). We have several former baristas and coffee aficionados on our team and we all agree: our Factory blend is borderline addictive. The flavor is smooth, yet dark, with a buttery feel and a slight dark chocolate finish. Delicious.
You can purchase The Factory Blend at our café or from our online store.
